AndharBan Trek- Must visit for a trekker-Mumbai/Pune weekend gateway

Hi friends!
Welcome to the page.

Andharban is a magnificent trek point for a true trekker. It is full of adventure and beauty.

I am wondering why this is not as famous as the other trek points be it Malshej ghat/Matheran/Lohagad and others, this place deserved to be a must visit for a trekker but with some conditions applied.

Trek Details:
Andharban point is located to Pimpri Dam (dont get confuse with Pimpri of Pune).
You can search for Pimpri dam in google map to avoid any confusion.

Pimpri dam is the base village where you need to start your trekking. This is completely a jungle adventure and you will enjoy your trip for sure.

Tips:Start early to cover the complete jungle (Will take around 6-7 hours with minimal stops in between).Take plenty of water and dry foods like biscuits chips etc as you wont get any food in between for 4 hours.

We started our trek @around 12 from Pimpri dam and we reached around 6.30 in Bhira dam.
You can get local guide right near the dam for 1000 rupees for a full trek (13-14 kms)and 700-800 rs for half trek(around 6-7 kms).

Starting point: Pimpri Dam
Stop in between: After you cover your trek for 6-7 kms you can get food and tea in a remote village.
Ending point:Bhira Dam
Best time: During monsoon
Travel option: Private cab will be the best option.
Places of Interest: Dams, Waterfalls, jungle, flora, fauna and small insects :P

Have a happy trek!
